Privacy Policy

MetaFlora (“MetaFlora”, “we”, “us”) runs this website: a directory of cannabis, CBD and hemp stores, store menus, strain and lab information, and a marketplace where MetaFlora and approved sellers sell products. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Information you give us.

• Account: your email address, password (stored by our authentication provider, never by us in readable form), display name and an optional profile photo.
• Orders on MetaFlora checkout: your name, email, phone number, shipping address and date of birth (to confirm you are 21 or older), and what you bought.
• Business owners: details you submit to claim or add a listing, upload a menu, or sell on MetaFlora (business name, contact details, licence numbers and the answers on our seller forms).
• Reports and messages: the reason you give when you report a listing or product, an email address if you add one, and anything you write to us or to the MetaFlora assistant.
• $FLORA rewards: if you connect a wallet, its public address and a signed message proving you control it.

Information collected as you use the site.

• Location: if you allow it, your browser's location; otherwise an approximate area from your IP address. We use it to show stores and products near you and save it in a cookie (mf_location) so the site remembers your area. You can change it at any time with the location picker.
• Activity on listings: anonymous counts of actions such as viewing a store or its menu, searching, and tapping call, directions, website or order. These record the action, the store and the time, not your name or account, and they power the lead dashboards we give store owners.
• On your device only: your favorites, recently viewed stores, strains and lab results, interests, cart and your age confirmation are kept in your browser's storage. They stay on your device unless you are signed in and choose to save them to your profile.
• Referral links: if you arrive through a member's referral link, we keep their code in a cookie (mf_ref) for 30 days so they can be credited if you sign up.

We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not build advertising profiles.

• To run the site: show stores and products near you, keep you signed in, and remember your settings.
• To process orders: take payment through the seller's payment provider, calculate sales tax, check your age, ship your order and send receipts and updates.
• To give store owners anonymous lead statistics about their own listings.
• To award community XP and $FLORA rewards, and to credit referrals.
• To review reports, remove inaccurate or unlawful listings, and keep the site safe.
• To answer your messages and the questions you ask the MetaFlora assistant.
• To meet legal obligations, such as tax records and age-verification rules.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide the service:

• The seller of your order. Stores selling on MetaFlora receive your name, contact details, shipping address and order so they can fulfill it. MetaFlora's own merch is printed and shipped by Printful, which receives the same details.
• Payment processors (Stripe for MetaFlora checkout and subscriptions; NMI or Authorize.net for some sellers). Card details go to the processor's secure form; your card number never reaches MetaFlora's servers.
• Age verification (AgeChecker.Net), which checks that you are 21 or older at checkout.
• Sales tax (Avalara), which receives the shipping address and items to calculate and record tax.
• Service providers that host and run the site for us: our database and sign-in provider (Supabase), hosting (Vercel), email delivery (Resend), maps and place data (OpenStreetMap, Google Places) and the AI model behind the MetaFlora assistant (Anthropic). They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
• Stores you visit through our links. Links to a store's own website can carry tags showing you came from MetaFlora, and some are affiliate links that earn us a commission. The store then handles your visit under its own policy.
• Public blockchains. $FLORA rewards are paid on FloraChain, where wallet addresses and transfers are public by design.
• When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public or MetaFlora.

We use a small number of cookies and browser storage entries, all needed for the site to work:

• Sign-in cookies that keep your session active.
• mf_location: the area you are browsing.
• mf_ref: a referral code, for 30 days.
• Browser storage for your age confirmation, favorites, recent activity, cart and display settings.

Clearing your browser's cookies and site data removes them; some features then reset.

• Account information: while your account is open, and deleted when you ask us to close it.
• Orders: as long as tax, accounting and consumer-protection laws require (often several years).
• Anonymous listing activity: used in aggregate for store statistics and kept as long as it is useful for them.
• Reports and messages: as long as needed to handle them and keep a record of moderation decisions.

• You can browse without an account, deny location access and set your area by hand.
• You can update your profile, or ask us to delete your account, from your profile or by writing to support@metaflora.xyz.
• Depending on where you live (for example California, Nevada, the EU or the UK), you may have the right to know what we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, delete it, or object to certain uses. Write to support@metaflora.xyz and we will respond within the time the law allows. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
• We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of; we honour browser opt-out signals anyway.

MetaFlora is for adults 21 and older (or the legal age where you live, if higher). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you believe someone underage has given us information, contact support@metaflora.xyz and we will delete it.

We protect information with encryption in transit, restricted access and payment forms run by the payment processor itself. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password. Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries; where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
